A charity cup game arranged by Gavin Clement Yr12, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Trust was held this past weekend 1st April.  Gavin recently lost his grandmother to cancer and set out to raise money in her memory.

The Mcmillan Cup was held in the Millennium Stadium Cardiff and saw two local youth rugby  team’s Ystrad Rhondda and Tonyrfail compete. A thrilling match ended with  Ystrad lifting the cup after a 31-19 win.

 In total Gavin raised a fantastic £3000,00 for the charity Gavin said “ I did it for my Nan without the support from other people it wouldn’t have happened, Thank you to all. “ Mr Lian O’Brian Director of Sport said “ I am very proud of Gavin to have done this off his own back. He is a real credit to his family, school and especially the PE department.
