Tonypandy Community College is celebrating another exceptional year of A Level results.
A staggering 100% of A Level students in the College gained a place at their first-choice university, with a number receiving unconditional offers due to a combination of continued hard work since GCSE, through Year 12 and at interview level.
The number of young people from Tonypandy Community College who have secured A*-E pass rates in their A Level exams stands at an impressive 92.3%. The percentage of students who attained A*-C grades is 75.2%.
Headteacher Helen O’Sullivan said: “Once again this year’s results are testament to the hard work of the students, staff, parents and governors who have all played their part in another successful year of achievement.
“Students across all subjects have achieved excellent grades and we have exceeded our targets for the academic year.
“This exceptional standard of performance has been consistent and I want to thank the combined efforts of all involved, especially the students and their families who are committed to helping them reach their full potential.”
Alongside their chosen courses students also followed the A Level Welsh Baccalaureate programme and for the first year the award has been subject to a grading system.
For a third consecutive year results in this prestigious qualification were outstanding with 98% of students achieving the advanced level.
Tonypandy Community College is recognized by the Welsh Government for its high standard of learning in the Welsh Baccaulaureate programme.
A number of younger students who are not yet in Year 13 gained A Level qualifications in Chinese and Polish.
Mrs O’Sullivan added: “Tonypandy Community College has a clear ethos of supporting our students in every given pathway by offering them a wide provision of learning, which is why I would also like to congratulate those who have succeeded once again in their vocational studies.
“Our BTEC courses remain a flagship for the College and this has been another excellent year for them.
“I am very proud of the success we have achieved and on behalf of us all at Tonypandy Community College would like to wish our students well for the future.”
Head of Post 16 at Tonypandy College Tatum Richards added: “I am absolutely delighted with these results which has come due to hard work and determination.
