Members of the University of the Third Age, Ystrad were treated to an afternoon of tea and entertainment today 23.3.2011

As part of their  GCSE Catering and Hospitality module  Yr 11 students hosted the afternoon event in the College Drama studio. The group planned, cooked and served an array of  sandwiches, savoury pastries and cakes along with copious amounts of tea to the group whilst they were entertained by students from the Performing Arts faculty singing a medley of songs from the musical Wicked.

Mr Edward Hopkins, Chair of the group said ” We have had a wonderful afternoon, the musical items were a joy to listen too and the food has been excellent, such a variety we have all ate far too much!. The students have been great hosts and a real credit to the College, my congratulations to them and their teachers.
