47 students from Years 8, 9 and 10 have just returned from a fantastic week in sunny Barcelona!
Excited students and equally excited members of staff boarded the coach and ferry ready for the trip to sunny Spain!
Finally we arrived at our 4-star hotel in the holiday resort of Calella. Students quickly explored the hotel before spending an evening playing football on the beach.
Students had the opportunity to experience Spanish culture and to practise their Spanish in the famous city of Barcelona. Students visited famous landmarks such as the Sagrada Familia, the Barri Gòtic, Montjuïc and the Olympic Stadium. This was followed by some shopping in the harbour area before an exciting afternoon in L’Aquàrium de Barcelona, the largest Mediterranean-themed aquarium in the world, with over 450 species, and an 80-meter underwater tunnel!
Port Aventura theme park was rated the best part of the trip by both students and staff! The day was spent discovering new and wonderful worlds in the six areas of the theme park, watching magnificent shows and riding breath-taking rides, including the tallest and fastest roller coasters in Europe!
Students spent the morning visiting the traditional Spanish city of Girona before spending the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the sun and eating ice cream on Calella beach!
Exhausted students and staff returned safely to the College ready to begin their Easter holidays!
