General results Top grades Hands RaisedBest Results in the College’s History as more students gain top A* and A grades.

 

The results this year are once again testimony to the dedication and hard work of both staff and students. The College celebrates yet another year of exceptional results. On behalf of the Governors and staff I congratulate students on their commitment and dedication to their studies. We are all incredibly proud.

 

Students across all subjects have gained excellent grades and secured places in higher education at some of the top universities in the country. All, 100% of students have secured places at that their first choices, students will study as far a field as Aberdeen, Winchester, Loughborough and Lincoln. Swansea and Cardiff also remain favourite choices.

Results indicate;

63% of all grades gained were A* and A grades.

 

83% of all grades were A* – C grades.

 

99% of all certificates were A* – E grades.

 

All students have followed the Welsh Baccalaureate programme at Level 3 and once again an exceptionally high number of students– 95%, have gained this very valuable qualification. This is well above the expected national average and will provide students with a valued additional qualification that complements their academic courses.

 

Head teacher, Mrs Helen O’Sullivan praised and congratulated students, staff and parents stating that “these results are a credit to our students, staff and their parents and are very well deserved. On behalf of the Governors and staff of the College I would like to wish them every success in their chosen careers.

 

This has been an exceptional year group who have made a significant contribution to the wider life of the College, and I know they will all be very successful” Some of these students will benefit from additional financial support via bursaries secured by the College on their behalf.

 

Ms. Tatum Richards, Head of Post 16 at the College said, “I am absolutely delighted with year 13’s results. This has come from their hard work and determination during their time at Tonypandy Community College. I am proud of every one of their achievements and wish them all the best for the future.”
