Thomas Miles in Year 12 has been accepted on the the “Cambridge University Students’ Union Shadowing Scheme.” This will be a fantastic opportunity!!!
The 2015 Cambridge University Students’ Union (CUSU) Shadowing Scheme received an unprecedented number of applications however, with over 2000 students from across the country applying to take part and Thomas secured a place! We are delighted that Thomas has accepted this offer and will begin his experience at the end of January.
The Shadowing Scheme will bring over four hundred sixth-formers, to Cambridge for three days. Thomas will stay in one of the Colleges(halls of residence) in his own room, as he would if he were a student at the University. He will eat his meals in the halls alongside current undergraduates and go to lectures, classes and social activities. Thomas will get to see all the university facilities, from the libraries to the sports pitches. The university will also run a series of taster sessions in the types of activities he might be involved in at University, including a chance to write for a student journal, and to attend a debate at the famous Union Society . Throughout the three days, Thomas will meet a range of current Cambridge students, and other sixth-formers from across the country, and get a sense of what life at Cambridge is really like, in real time, with real people.
We wish Thomas the best of luck and look forward to hearing from him upon his return.
