Former Tonypandy Community College student Leon Davies inspired the builders of the future when he came back to school.

Leon met with students who have achieved their Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the Construction Environment following a course at Arc Academy.

The qualification allow them to sit their Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Card which is necessary for anyone applying to work on a UK construction site.

The former student, who has worked in the oil industry in Scotland for the past 20 years explained how the determination to succeed, concentration on studies and a confidence in yourself can lead to many career opportunities.

The students who have achieved their certificates are: Josh Boundford. Brandon Bridgeman, Jake Derrick, Bradley Evans, Jacob Evans, Kian Morgan, Alex Rowland, Ieuan Seldon, Joshua Sheppard, Rhys Stevens and Dylan Walsh
