Students attending the College e3+ programme witnessed the emergency service in action first hand on Monday evening, when the South Wales Police helicopter landed on the College tennis courts.

Police and ambulance crews came to the assistance of a person in distress on the mountain side above the school and made use of the courts as a makeshift landing site. Medics and officers were dispatched onto the mountain side where they located the casualty who was then airlifted to the Royal Glamoragn Hospital.

Students who witnessed the drama unfold were in awe of the situation Alex Yr10 said ” it was exciting to see the helicopter land so close to us, I just hope the causality will be OK”
