On Thursday 25th November nine Tonypandy Community College students from year 9 attended an Engineering Event at Coleg Morgannwg, Nantgarw.
The Event was organised by the college and formed part of Engineering Week Wales. During the course of the day, the students competed against other local schools in a range of engineering related activities, including an Aeronautics challenge, a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Task and an Electronics Project.
The students won two of the challenges, and this combined with their excellent behaviour, teamwork and progress throughout the day, enabled them to be crowned overall winners. Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the day, which was well organised providing exciting activities and gave a great insight into the world of engineering. The students were extremely proud to be awarded with a glass trophy, along with individual certificates and goodie bags.
The students who took part were, Sam Studley, Lewis Evans, Tyler Hewitt, Mia Burnell, Iestyn Davey, Richard Palmer and Lewis Owen. The students were accompanied to the event by Miss Carrie Roberts (DT).
Well done to all involved
