I am delighted to give you an update on the progress that has been made throughout Tonypandy Community College this term.

This is particularly important as we look forward to many exciting developments taking place in the near future.

This term has seen the college continue to improve at a rapid pace. Feedback from students, parents and the local authority has been incredibly positive.

Our expectations are high and we are committed to ensuring every student expects more of themselves and as a staff we deliver a provision of the highest standard.

Our recent Estyn visit will be reported formally shortly and I am sure we will be very pleased with the result.

Building work on site continues to move at a pace and our new 3G pitch and all-weather surface will be unveiled in January with building work continuing within the main building. Late next year the construction of the new primary phase will begin.

I have been appointed as the Headteacher of the new 3-16 school which will open on the current college site in September 2018. This is a very exciting time for all students and education in the Mid Rhondda and we will ensure a seamless transition over the coming eighteen months.

To that effect I will take up my new position as Headteacher Designat in January and will be primarily focused on the development of the new school until 2018.

In the interim period I’m delighted to announce that Mr Nathan Prygodzicz  has been appointed as the Acting Headteacher and will lead the College, with the leadership team and governors from strength to strength over the next 18 months.
