Christmas on a budget was the order of the day, but Scrooge was banished as the spirit of Christmas was alive and kicking at this fantastic event held by the 6th Form Community Group on the 18th December 2014.

At the “Festive Frugal Fayre”, supported by Money for Life Challenge the students shared with an invited audience their money saving tips for Christmas.

The event kicked off with a festive quiz, packed with cash saving facts. This was followed by a higher and lower game that tested everybody’s knowledge of current food prices around the various high street outlets.

Technology played its part with students using ipads to compare prices on the spot and showing the best deals.

Everyone then tucked in to a delicious Christmas buffet which was followed by entertainment provided by students from across the College. The group enjoyed singing, acting and a hilarious alternative nativity and a message from the Head.

The event was rounded off with carol singing, fuelled by Baileys and After Eight mints!

Well done to all the students from the Community Group who put so much effort in to making the event such a fun experience.
