Last week Tonypandy Community College took a trip back to the 1950’s with their production of Grease and what a spectacular time we had. Mrs Richards, Director of Learning Performing Arts, can not praise the cast enough for the hard work and commitment they have shown towards the making of this successful show. The cast ranged from students in year 7 all the way to year 13 and included students from a range of backgrounds, not necessarily performing arts related.

Cast and staff were in most nights of the week and during the weekends in the run up to the performance in order to ensure the highest of quality in the performance and the audiences were not disappointed. With a full house every night, and queues at the door the Performing Arts faculty have been blown away by the support of fellow staff, students and the wider community. This was a fantastic opportunity to really broadcast the talent we have here at Tonypandy – not just on stage but the talents of staff and students involved in the technical support and design aspects of the show.

Staff involved would like to take this opportunity to thank the cast, musicians and technical team for their efforts. Already, we have been inundated with requests from students at the college for what we could do next year, many asking when auditions will take place. Grease really has been the word. Congratulations to all involved.
