Audiences were entertained this month by talented young people  who took to the stage to raise money for the Mayor’s charities.  Rhondda Cynon Taff Deputy Mayor Cllr Simon Lloyd was guest of honour and cheered the students all the way as they took to the stage.

Pupils from Tonypandy Community College joined with LMT Academy and members of the Selsig Operatic Society in the extravaganza at the Muni. The “Showtime” themed event saw all proceeds being donated to the three charities chosen by Mayor Cllr Robert Smith Help the Heroes, Diabetes and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The evening was split into three sections with LMT Academy doing a medley of Michael Jackson songs, Selsig performing songs from Westend musicals and Tonypandy Community College performing a selection of songs from the upcoming “Little Shop of Horrors” .

Many thanks to all the young people involved from the three groups. Special mention must be made of Mrs. Luisa Martin Thomas,  Mr. Martin Childs, Mr. Matthew Pearce  and all other staff for staging such a wonderful show.
