Motocross fanatic Kierun Webber is racing ahead to the championships!

The Year 10 pupil at Tonypandy Community College is preparing for his next Welsh Championship competition this weekend at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire.

The 14-year-old from Penygraig has already claimed plenty of silverware in the high energy off-road motor sport.

After just one season in the competitive arena, Keirun has been named 13th out of 40 competitors in the Welsh Championship and a staggering 16th out of 40 places in the all-British Championship.

“I get a real buzz from competing because it’s such an adrenaline rush to beat and pass other motorbikes on the track,” he said.

“I’ve always liked push bikes, but two years ago my Dad bought me my first motorbike and I really love it. I just can’t wait for the next competition to come along.”

Keirun trains at the Cefn Parc MX Trax in Bridgend on his Husqvarna 85 motorbike and competes in the 85cc Big Wheel category of the championships.

Tonypandy Community College Headteacher Nathan Prygodzicz said: “We are very proud of Keirun’s efforts in Motocross and congratulate him on his success in the sport so far.

“We look forward to hearing about his continued success and will be keeping a close eye on his sporting prowess on the track.”
