40 year 12 students and Mrs Fleming visited the University of South Wales on Monday 7th July to begin the UCAS process. This process is the application process that students must undertake if they wish to apply for university. The trip was a huge success and these students will spend the summer writing their personal statements ready for the university mentoring support programme which begins in September.
The ball, which was held at the Marriott hotel in Cardiff was a resounding success and all year 13 and staff had fantastic evening. This year’s ball saw more staff attend the special event than ever before which is a true testament to the year group itself. This year group were a special one to Miss Richards (Head of P16) as they began at the College in 2007 at the same time that she did; she describes them as “talented and unique.” This event was followed with the annual leaver’s breakfast held in the main hall and event that was funded by the Post 16 tuck shop team. All of the staff at the College would like to wish all the year 13 students the very best as they move into the next phase of their lives.
Post 16 will celebrate their hard work with a trip to Ogmore scheduled for the last week of term.
