Safer Internet Day is organised by Insafe each year in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.
The topic for 2011 is “our virtual lives” around the slogan ” It’s more than a game, it’s your life“.
In 2010 Safer Internet Day was celebrated through over 500 events in 65 countries all over the world. Last year, at Tonypandy Community College we run competitions and activities throughout the week and this week there are competitions, where students need to:
- Think of a suitable slogan for display around the ICT suites about Internet Safety
- Create a Presentation on E:Safety to show to other students and Parents
- Create a Flyer to send home highlighting the main dangers and how to stay safe on line
- Create a Poster to give advice about staying safe online
All entries need to be with Miss Utting in Room 15 by Friday and winners and prizes will be awarded in Assemblies next week.
