Students from Year 7 took part in the Regional Finals of the CILT Cymru National Spelling Bee. Ellen Evans and Katie Griffiths won their class competition, then the school competition to win their place in the regional final. Both girls travelled to Cwrt Sart Comprehensive school, Briton Ferry to take part in the competition, joining Year 7 students from 10 other South Wales Comprehensive schools.

The competition involved having to translate, then spell in French as many words as they could in the space of one minute. To make it even more difficult, the words had to be spelt using the French alphabet! The girls demonstrated great dedication, having to learn to spell 150 words in French, and were great ambassadors for the school.

Both students did extremely well, only just missing out on going through to the National Final.

Félicitations toutes les deux !
