A limited edition signed Welsh Rugby Team shirt has been presented to Tonypandy Community College thanks to their successful contribution to Principality’s Business Class Partnership programme.

Headteacher Nathan Prygodzicz, Assistant Headteacher Danielle Lewis and Pastoral Support Worker Kylie Thomas met with James Harper, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Principality for the presentation at the College.

Principality Building Society teamed up with Tonypandy Community College a year ago through Business Class, a programme which partners businesses with schools for mutual benefit.

Working together over the course of three years, Principality and Tonypandy Community College are carrying out financial education and employability skills activities as well as collaborating with teachers on curriculum support and resources.

Since entering into the partnership Tonypandy students from all year groups have earned qualifications in personal finance management, learned about the world of work and won prizes for undertaking mock job interviews.

Principality has also donated a kit for the college netball team, taken students on team building events to Celtic Manor and organised motivational workshops.

Headteacher Nathan Prygodzicz said: “Our students have benefited hugely from the business knowledge as well as education in financial issues which will prepare them for their future. By working together in this way, we can all help young people achieve their potential.”
