Since Tonypandy Community College opened its doors to future students AND their parents to see the excellent standard of educational facilities on offer, the response has been overwhelming!
Transition Tuesday has traditionally welcomed students from feeder primary schools in the area to come along and learn more about life in the College.
But Tonypandy Community College is now welcoming parents as well with social events and plenty of activities on offer.
They can enjoy a coffee and cake with a member of staff to discuss their children’s future in the College or take part in cookery, arts and crafts, flower arranging or technology workshops.
Headteacher Nathan Prygodzicz said: “Transition Tuesday has been a very successful component in the College for several years as it welcomes children from the various feeder primary schools who will join us in the next academic year.
“But we also want to ensure a positive and lasting relationship with their parents or guardians, which is why we’re extending the provision to suit their needs as well.
“This will be an ideal opportunity for them to learn what’s on offer in Tonypandy Community College, meet other parents, raise any concerns they may have with key members of staff and understand our ethos of providing a first-class learning provision for their children.”
Transition Tuesday allows Year 5 and 6 students to enjoy a host of fun activities at the College including cookery, gaming club, arts & crafts and sports.
The first Transition Tuesday takes place from 4pm-5pm. Come along!
