Welsh 3 Peaks – Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan all in one day!

Tcc is very poud of Scinece Coach Kurt Daniel who completed the Welsh 3 Peaks challange raising money in aid of the Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taff’s Charity Appeal – MIND (Merthyr and the Valleys), Action for Children, New Horizons, ADREF and Giving to Pink

Here is his account of the weekend

“Firstly we scaled Snowdon starting at 5am, the highest peak in Wales, before driving down to the mighty Cadair Idris, also in Snowdonia.

Finally, we tackled the highest mountain in South Wales, Pen-y-Fan, to complete the challenge in gail force conditions. (They closed Pen Y Fan, luckily as we were on the way down as conditions were so bad)  we finished around 10pm”

The group walked a total distance of 20.35 miles and make a total ascent of 9,397ft (2,864m).

As of yesterday they had reached their  target of £400 – there is still an opportunity to sponsor the group to support these excellent causes.
