On Friday 11th October a group of 11 year 10 students went to a careers event in Merthyr Leisure Centre.

Students participated in many different activities which included childcare, catering, panel beating, carpentry, bricklaying, penalty shootouts with ex Everton and Wales’s goalkeeper Neville Southall , DJ trials and workplace hazard perception tests as well as having the  opportunity to explore the different projects on offer when they leave the College to finding employment.

The students particularly enjoyed handling the different reptiles on show including Honey the 12 foot python!

Congratulations to Adam Lowe who achieved the highest beep test score of the day with 13.8.  The officers were very impressed with Adam’s achievement and so are we.  Well done Adam!

The day nursery staff were very impressed with students who participated in their activities which involved flour, water and foam in “I’m a Celebrity” style challenges.

All students were very well behaved which was commented on by staff who ran the event as well as the staff who accompanied them.
