Students from our Horticulture group have been busy, despite some difficult weather conditions, working on our outdoor space.
This term the group have been cutting back trees to create a woodland trail on the banking in front of the tennis courts. Further planting of trees and bushes as well as plants and the establishment of bird and bug boxes will help create a haven for wildlife.
The improvements to our site have been amazing, students can now sit under the outdoor classroom, take the opportunity for some impromptu fitness in the outdoor gym as well as grow vegetables in the organic allotment. The development have been made possible by the ongoing support of a Countryside of Wales grant.
Through the coming months we will be developing a Heritage trail, further developing the organic allotment as well as a planting a historical time line – watch this space for further updates.
